Want to make a dress with me??
This beautiful dress, designed by Jennifer Paganelli, is lovely for all body types, and guess what! It's easy to sew! I've had time to read over my pattern, and it's going to be just great, even if you have never sewn clothing for yourself before! You can do it...we can do it together!!
So I have some more details for you about the sew along, but please let me know if there's anything I've missed or if you have any questions!
The Sewing Pattern - The pattern we will be working with is the Sis Boom Jamie Dress. It makes sizes XS-3X. Jennifer Paganelli is offering a discount for this pattern for participants in the sew along. The discounted price is $7.50. To receive the discount, please provide me with your Paypal e-mail address by APRIL 1st (THIS FRIDAY). You can either reply with your e-mail address in a comment on this blog post, or you can e-mail me the address (sara@sewsweetness.com). I will collect all your addresses; after Friday, you will receive a Paypal money request from Jennifer Paganelli for the price of the pattern. Once you send payment, your .pdf sewing pattern will be e-mailed directly to you! Hopefully that makes sense. :-) If you miss the deadline or join in later, no problem! Just pop over to Pink Chalk Fabrics so you can still get the pattern via instant download (Pink Chalk price for the pattern is $9.95) and join in! I have had several "no-reply" bloggers contact me about this project; I'm sorry, but I can't answer your questions if I can't e-mail you back! :-( If you have not received a response from me within 24 hours, chances are that's you!
The Fabric - I have attached the measurements and fabric requirements so that you may plan for your supplies. Ruth from Sew Love Fabrics has generously offered a 15% discount (valid until April 21, 2011) in her Etsy shop for your fabrics to make the dress! She has some really gorgeous things, including the new Aviary 2 fabrics from Joel Dewberry! And here is Ruth's beautiful blog! Please just send Ruth a convo, letting her know you are participating in the Sew Sweetness sew along, and she will set up a custom listing for your chosen fabrics! I thought I already had my fabrics for the dress, but I think I just might...pick something else out. You know, so I can make more than one. ;-)
Support - I've created a Flickr Group for the sew along. Feel free to join up, post pictures of the fabric you are planning on working with, as well as any questions along the way! We're here to help eachother get to the finished dress!
The Prizes - I will have a separate post announcing the prizes in detail; there will be a linky party here on April 21st (it's a Thursday) for you to post your finished dress! I will have random drawings for prizes out of everyone who participates in the linky party. Prizes include a free pattern download from Sis Boom, a gift certificate to Pink Chalk Fabrics, fabric bundles, and more! These are really great prizes people!
So, if you would like to participate, leave me your Paypal e-mail address (or e-mail it to me at sara@sewsweetness.com), and after Friday, April 1st, you will be able to pay and receive your sewing pattern via e-mail!
I would love it if you blogged about this if you are going to participate...the more the merrier! Grab a button from the sidebar!
Thank you and I'm super-excited to do this!!

I want to do this! I am going to make this for my daughter for Easter. She is away at college and I will have to just HOPE that it fits her. I have her measurements and will go up one size in the bodice. I was looking at all different fabrics tonight and finally got her online and sent her links. She chose one and then I kept sending her more images. I love what she picked, although it surprised me.
ReplyDeleteWow I just found this pattern randomly and now I found your blog randomly. With a sew along of my new pattern! Woo hoo!
