If you’ve seen my blog recently, you might have seen some posts about the Sis Boom Jamie Dress Sew Along (pssst! It’s not to late to join in!).
I made 2 dresses the other day. I decided to make more. Today I finished up a knee-length version that I made using 20 different Amy Butler scraps.
Can you spot your favorite Amy Butler print?
I thought this would be good inspiration for all you quilters out there…when you finish your first Jamie Dress, you can make a pieced one! I just assembled the scraps before cutting the bodice and waistband pieces, and since the skirt is unlined, all of the patchwork in the skirt was zig-zag stitched to hold up in the wash (the bodice pieces I did not zig zag since it is lined and they are enclosed).
Don’t forget to join the sew along…you have until Thursday, April 21st to finish and link up a dress for a chance to win some cool prizes!!
Sara, STUNNING!!!!! I have not even picked out my fabric, okay…I have… but it will be a surprise…and you have made THREE dresses!!!!! You are amazing :o)
Wow… this dress is stunning. I love all of the bold colors & prints.
this is amazing. And I can’t pick my favorite, because they are ALLLLLL my fave! I do love the wallpaper in Duck you have on the back. So pretty!
This is so gorgeous! I’m thinking of making mine like this now!
That is so cool. You are really cranking out those dresses! One thing is for sure- you get your money’s worth out of a pattern!
Awesome! Perfect to use up all those scraps you can’t bear to part with. The dress looks so pretty, you would make Amy proud! 🙂
This is an AMAZING design you did with this pattern. Words fail me to say, how beautiful this is.
I love it!!
Oh, Sara, you are making this too hard! Now I can’t decide if I want to make a version like this or just with one fabric. This one is SO CUTE!
Michelle
AHHH…I love it!!! Keep sharing these, every one I see gets me more excited (& motivated!) to make mine. 🙂
As if I needed more motivation to get me excited about this project! I usually don’t go for quilted fabrics but your color combination is just perfect here. I can’t wait for my fabrics to get here so I can get going.
Wowee! What a great idea… also shows a nice use for some of those cheater prints out there 🙂

Wow this just turned out so lovely! Love all the different prints, what a great idea!
Ack! I can’t believe I didnt already comment on this! LOVE!! Hopefully I like how this pattern fits me, because I can totally see a scrappy version in my future!
Beautiful dress!
Wow that is really cute. I wish I had time to join in, just too much going here.
Your dress is fantastic! I really want to make on now, but the idea of a downloadable pattern scares the heck out of me. I haven’t made much clothing yet, and do well just to use the old fashioned patterns!
Beautiful Sara! Thanks for linking up to {Sew} Modern Monday!
So pretty Sara! I love the “quilt” look. Thanks for linking to fabric Tuesday 🙂
This is the cutest thing ever! Looks great on you, too! My 16yr old is oohing & aahing over my shoulder & insisting I make this for her. 😉
You made so many…sell me one, please, please!!! :))
They look sooo cute!
