Sis Boom Jamie Dress – Quilt-Style!

If you’ve seen my blog recently, you might have seen some posts about the Sis Boom Jamie Dress Sew Along (pssst! It’s not to late to join in!).

I made 2 dresses the other day. I decided to make more. Today I finished up a knee-length version that I made using 20 different Amy Butler scraps.

Can you spot your favorite Amy Butler print?

I thought this would be good inspiration for all you quilters out there…when you finish your first Jamie Dress, you can make a pieced one! I just assembled the scraps before cutting the bodice and waistband pieces, and since the skirt is unlined, all of the patchwork in the skirt was zig-zag stitched to hold up in the wash (the bodice pieces I did not zig zag since it is lined and they are enclosed).

Don’t forget to join the sew along…you have until Thursday, April 21st to finish and link up a dress for a chance to win some cool prizes!!

As if I needed more motivation to get me excited about this project! I usually don’t go for quilted fabrics but your color combination is just perfect here. I can’t wait for my fabrics to get here so I can get going.

Your dress is fantastic! I really want to make on now, but the idea of a downloadable pattern scares the heck out of me. I haven’t made much clothing yet, and do well just to use the old fashioned patterns!
